Abstract
Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) have witnessed exponential growth in adoption across various industries, transforming the way infrastructure experts operate in the field. Recent advancements have elevated GNSS into a valuable tool for non-survey staff, enabling them to collect vital field data while inspecting and maintaining networks. This paper focuses on the application of GNSS for achieving sub-meter or centimetre accuracy through modern GNSS receivers integrated with smart phones, iPads, or Android tablets, along with suitable software. The technology's potential to map visible and subsurface assets accurately and input associated attributes into databases has revolutionized asset lifecycle management.
