Calculating and mitigating coating damage mechanisms from HDD installation

Abstract
This paper will focus on the many components involved in HDD installations which have the potential to negatively impact the condition of the anti-corrosion coatings of the pipe. Considerations which include details such as soil conditions, entry/exit angle, pipe size, length of the pull, and others will be explained and quantified. Ultimately the paper will outline ways to calculate the anticipated risk and provide guidance on how to mitigate that risk.
