Abstract
This paper will explore the application of cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) lining technology in non-traditional markets (i.e. markets other than water utility and municipal drainage) and the benefits of potential alternatives to traditional rectification works in relation to aging or defective assets. Examples of actual and potential applications will be explored and two real case studies will be presented: CIPP lining of vertical vent shafts at the Eraring Power Station located in NSW (for Origin Energy). CIPP rehabilitation of the oil containment system at Wyong Substation located in NSW (for Ausgrid). This is relevant to the Trenchless Technology industry as it encourages industry growth into untapped possibilities outside of traditional markets and applications. Furthermore, it emphasises the opportunities driven by new markets to make greater technical developments to existing products that could ultimately benefit existing markets.
